PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE

1. The Committee met at 7.30 p.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputy Patrick Hogan (in the Chair), Deputies Barrett, E. Collins, Dowling, H. Gibbons, MacSharry, Nolan, Treacy and Tunney.

3. Mr. E. F. Suttle (Comptroller and Auditor General) was in attendance in an advisory capacity.

4. The Committee considered a letter* of 17 December, 1971 from the solicitor for Mr. John Kelly.

Resolved: to approve form of reply.*

5. The Committee considered a letter* from Colonel Hefferon of 10 January, 1972.

Ordered: to defer further consideration pending receipt of replies from the Garda Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner to the Committee’s letter† of 24 November, 1971.

6. The Committee deliberated.

7. Adjournment.

The Committee adjourned at 9 p.m. until 11.15 a.m. tomorrow.
