APPENDIX 7.

OFFICE OF PUBLIC WORKS:

COMPILATION OF PROPERTY RENTAL, 1966-67

Mapping:

During the year 7 properties were surveyed and 7 were mapped; the counties concerned were Cork, Dublin, Laois, Tipperary and Wexford. The Surveyors had also to be employed on other essential property work including mapping work in connection with Bourn Vincent Memorial Park, preparation of maps for leases, sales etc., and research work in the Valuation Office and Land Registry.

From the initiation of the property rental 1567 properties have been surveyed and mapped.

Survey work and mapping remains to be done in about 100 cases excluding National Monuments, State owned National Schools and houses built by the National Building Agency.

Legal Work:

Legal work was held up due to the prolonged absence on sick leave of the officer in the Chief State Solicitor’s Office who was assigned to this work. About 200 cases remain to be done.

Secretariat:

Because of staff vacancies progress on the preparation of title etc. records for use by each District Architect has been retarded. It has been possible, however, to complete the records for all properties surveyed in Counties Sligo, Leitrim, Donegal, Cavan, Carlow, Laois, Wicklow and Wexford and these will very shortly be made available to the District Architects concerned.

Perambulation:

Periodic inspection of all properties has continued.
