The following members were present:— Deputies Andrews, Briscoe, Patrick J. Burke, Cluskey, Crowley, Healy, Patrick Hogan (South Tipperary), Kenny, Molloy and Reynolds. 3. Election of Chairman. Motion made (Deputy Healy): “That Deputy Patrick Hogan (South Tipperary) be the Chairman of the Committee.” Question put, and agreed to. Deputy Hogan took the Chair accordingly. 4. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1966-67. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1966-67 was begun. The Committee examined Paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General. Ordered: That Mr. P. Berry, Accounting Officer, Department of Justice, do attend this Committee on Thursday, 7th December, 1967 at 11 a.m., at Room 106, Leinster House in connection with its examination of paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General on the Appropriation Accounts for the year ended 31st March, 1967; and that the Clerk of the Committee inform the said Accounting Officer accordingly. The following Accounts were disposed of:—President’s Establishment, Houses of the Oireachtas, Department of the Taoiseach, Central Statistics Office, Office of the Minister for Finance, State Laboratory, Civil Service Commission, An Chomhairle Ealaíon, Superannuation and Retired Allowances, Secret Service, Agricultural Grants, Law Charges, Miscellaneous Expenses, Remuneration and Roinn na Gaeltachta. 5. Witnesses Examined. Mr. T. K. Whitaker (Secretary, Department of Finance), Mr. L. Tóibín (Rúnaí, Roinn na Gaeltachta), Mr. J. F. Harmon (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined. 6. Adjournment. The Committee adjourned at 12.45 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday next. |
