15th June, 1965:—Ordered: That, in pursuance of Standing Order No. 113 of the Standing Orders relative to Public Business, a Select Committee be appointed to be joined with a Select Committee of Seanad Éireann to constitute the Standing Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills [Parliamentary Secretary to the Taoiseach].

Message sent to the Seanad acquainting it accordingly.

24th June, 1965:—Members nominated to serve on the Standing Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills: Deputies Lionel Booth, Thomas A. Kyne and Richie Ryan.

30th June, 1965:—Message from the Seanad: “Seanad Éireann has made the following Order:—

‘That, in pursuance of Standing Order No. 101 of the Standing Orders relative to Public Business, a Select Committee be appointed to be joined with a Select Committee of Dáil Éireann to constitute the Standing Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills.”’

5th May, 1966:—Resolved: That it is expedient that the Income Tax Bill, 1966, be referred to the Standing Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills [Minister for Finance].

Ordered: That a Message be sent to the Seanad requesting its concurrence in this Resolution.

12th May, 1966:—Message from the Seanad:—“Seanad Éireann has passed the following Resolution:—

“That Seanad Éireann concurs with Dáil Éireann in its Resolution communicated to Seanad Éireann on the 5th day of May, 1966, that it is expedient that the Income Tax Bill, 1966, be referred to the Standing Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills.”’

Ordered: That the Income Tax Bill, 1966, be referred to the Standing Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills.

That the first meeting of the Committee be held on a date not earlier than 25th May, 1966 [Minister for Finance].

8th June, 1966:—Members added to the Standing Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills for the purpose of considering the Income Tax Bill, 1966: Deputies Vivion de Valera, Patrick Lenihan and Thomas F. K. O’Higgins.

29th September, 1966:—Deputy Gerard Sweetman appointed in place of Deputy Richie Ryan, discharged.

11th May, 1966:—Message from the Dáil: “Dáil Éireann has passed the following Resolution in which the concurrence of Seanad Éireann is desired:—

‘That it is expedient that the Income Tax Bill, 1966, be referred to the Standing Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills.”’
