At the meeting of the Committee of Public Accounts on the 9th March, 1967, in connection with the Appropriation Accounts, 1965-66, Office of the Revenue Commissioners, I undertook to supply a note giving the figures involved where discrepancies were discovered between traders’ Turnover Tax returns and the annual accounts submitted for Income Tax purposes.

The total amount of additional Turnover Tax brought to light and collected as a result of the discovery of discrepancies during the year amount to approximately £50,600.
