THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputy Jones (in the Chair), Deputies Andrews, Briscoe, Patrick J. Burke, Patrick Byrne, Flor Crowley, Healy, and Patrick Hogan (South Tipperary).

3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1964-65.

Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1964-65 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—Industry and Commerce, Social Welfare, Office of the Minister for Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Vocational Education, Reformatory and Industrial Schools, Universities and Colleges and Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies.

4. Witnesses Examined.

Mr. J. C. B. MacCarthy (Secretary, Department of Industry and Commerce), Mr. W. A. Honohan (Secretary, Department of Social Welfare), Dr. T. Ó Raifeartaigh (Secretary, Department of Education), Mr. J. R. Whitty and Mr. P. S. MacGuill (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.

5. Adjournment.

The Committee adjourned at 1.20 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Tuesday next.
