THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.


2. Members Present.


The following members were present:—


Deputies Briscoe, Flor Crowley, Healy, Molloy and Treacy.


3. Election of Temporary Chairman.


Motion made (Deputy Flor Crowley):


“That Deputy Healy be the Chairman of the Committee for this meeting.”


Question put, and agreed to.


Deputy Healy took the Chair accordingly.


4. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1964-65.


Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1964-65 was begun. The following Accounts were disposed of:—Charitable Donations and Bequests, National Gallery (Excess Vote), National Gallery, Valuation and Ordnance Survey, Rates on Government Property (Excess Vote), Rates on Government Property, Office of Public Works, Public Works and Buildings and Employment and Emergency Schemes.


5. Witnesses Examined.


Mr. J. S. Martin (Secretary, Commissioners of Charitable Donations and Bequests), Mr. J. White (Director, National Gallery), Mr. J. Mooney (Commissioner of Valuation), Mr. H. J. Mundow (Chairman, Commissioners of Public Works) Mr. M. Hawe (Employment and Emergency Schemes), Miss M. Bhreathnach and Mr. J. McGartoll (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.


6. Adjournment.


The Committee adjourned at 1.10 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday 8th June, 1966.
