At the meeting of the Public Accounts Committee on 30th June, 1966, I undertook to furnish some information in regard to the activities of the Irish National Productivity Committee. With regard to the number of assignments undertaken by the advisory services of the Committee, 42 invoiced at £2,800 were handled in the year ended 31st March, 1965. Last year 51 assignments were completed at an invoice value of £7,500.


Details of the staff employed are set out in the attached statement.

In the year 1964/65 the Secretary to the Committee was an officer seconded from this Department. On 31st March, 1966, the Committee appointed a Chief Executive Officer and the seconded officer returned to the Department on 1st April, 1966.


In the year 1964/65 the Committee had the services of a full-time consultant. The consultant’s contract with the Committee will, however, expire on 14th September, 1966.
