Oil Heater Regulations, 1963 (S.I. No. 9 of 1963).

I am directed by the Select Committee on Statutory Instruments to refer to paragraph 10 of the First Report (T.152-Pr.3001) of the Select Committee on Statutory Instruments dated 5th May, 1955, in which it was recommended that schedules to statutory instruments should be properly attested by appearing above the signature of the Minister. This recommendation has since been generally adopted but the Committee notes that it was not followed in the case of the Oil Heater Regulations, 1963 (S.I. No. 9 of 1963). It would be glad to have the observations of your Department in the matter.

I am directed by the Minister for Industry and Commerce to refer to your minute of 16th July, 1964 in connection with the Oil Heater Regulations, 1963 (S.I. No. 9 of 1963).

In reply I am to inform you that as the schedule to this particular Statutory Instrument was very voluminous, it was considered appropriate to place the Minister’s signature at the end of the text. I am to add, however, that care will be taken to ensure that the recommendation of the Select Committee on this matter will be adopted in all further cases.
