APPENDIX VI.

DEPARTMENT OF DEFENCE: SALE OF SURPLUS LAND

During my examination before the Committee of Public Accounts on the 15th July, 1965, I undertook to supply a note regarding the amount outstanding at the end of the financial year 1963-1964 in respect of the sale of surplus land. Details are as follows:—

Amount outstanding on the 31st March, 1964			..	..	1,200

The outstanding amount of £1,200 was made up of balances of £75 and £1,125 in respect of two sales, on foot of which deposits of £25 and £375, respectively, had been paid. The balance of £75 was received on the 2nd July, 1964. The balance of £1,125 is still outstanding, pending the completion of certain formalities. In the meantime, the purchaser is paying a rental in respect of the occupation of the land.
