GRANTS TO COLLEGES PROVIDING COURSES IN IRISH

In accordance with my undertaking, at the proceedings of the Committee on 22nd July, 1965, to supply information regarding the rates of capitation grant paid during 1963/64 in respect of the attendance of persons at Colleges providing courses in Irish, I wish to inform the Committee that the position was as follows:—

Grants were paid on the basis of a weekly rate of:

(a) £1 13s. 4d. for persons attending a course provided for qualified teachers or teachers in training;

(b) £1 2s. 6d. for persons attending other courses.
