1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputy Jones (in the Chair), Deputies Carter, Lalor and Treacy.

3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1962-63.

Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1962-63 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—National Gallery, Local Government, Office of the Minister for Social Welfare, Social Insurance and Social Assistance. Consideration of the following Account was begun:—Agriculture.

4. Meeting Suspended.

Ordered: That the Meeting be now suspended until 1.15 p.m. [Deputy Carter].

The Meeting was accordingly suspended at 1 p.m.

The Meeting was resumed at 1.15 p.m.

5. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1962-63.

Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1962-63 was resumed. The following Account was disposed of:—Agriculture.

6. Witnesses Examined.

Mr. J. White (Director, National Gallery), Mr. J. Garvin (Secretary, Department of Local Government), Mr. W. A. Honohan (Secretary, Department of Social Welfare), Mr. J. C. Nagle (Secretary, Department of Agriculture), Mr. L. V. O’Neill and Mr. J. R. Whitty (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.

7. Adjournment.

The Committee adjourned at 1.50 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday next.
