REGISTERS AND RENTALS OF STATE LANDS AND BUILDINGS.

With reference to my letter dated 4 Feabhra, 1963, relative to the compilation of complete registers and rentals of all State Lands and Buildings administered by the Office of Public Works, I enclose a statement of the progress made in the work during the year ended 31st March, 1963.

OFFICE OF PUBLIC WORKS: COMPILATION OF PROPERTY RENTALS, 1962-63.

Mapping: During the year, 61 properties were surveyed and 25 were mapped, the counties concerned being Cork, Dublin, Galway, Kerry, Mayo and Tipperary.

From the initiation of the property rental 1,449 properties have been surveyed and 1,383 have been mapped.

Legal: The preliminary legal work was done in respect of 42 properties and the final legal work in respect of 46 properties in Counties Cork, Donegal, Galway, Dublin, Kerry, Limerick, Mayo, Meath, Monaghan, Tipperary and Westmeath.

Secretariat: Of the properties surveyed 36 were finally dealt with for the purposes of the Rental. In addition the records of title, etc., were compiled in respect of 89 other properties (short-term tenancies, National Schools, etc.). The properties concerned are situated in Counties Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Kerry, Kilkenny, Galway, Limerick, Mayo, Meath, Monaghan and Tipperary.

Perambulation: The perambulation of properties, whether surveyed or not, in as full a manner as circumstances permitted, was continued during the year.
