APPENDIX XX.

TRADE LOAN GUARANTEES: POSITION TO 31st MARCH, 1963.

At the meeting of the Public Accounts Committee on the 11th June, 1964 I undertook to furnish particulars of the overall position with regard to Trade Loan Guarantees. Up to 31st March, 1963 a total of 163 loans amounting to £3,597,761 were granted in respect of 141 undertakings. Included in this figure were 53 loans amounting to £2,416,350 given to 46 undertakings under the 1939-1954 Acts. The number of loans in which guarantees had to be met from the Central Fund was 46 and the net amount involved, after allowing for repayments by the Receivers, was £617,409.
