1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputy Jones (in the Chair), Deputies Booth, Patrick J. Burke, Carter, Clinton, Nicholas Egan, Kenny, Lalor and Treacy.

3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1961-62.

Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1961-62 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—Posts and Telegraphs, Defence and Army Pensions.

4. Witnesses Examined.

Mr. L. Ó Broin (Secretary, Department of Posts and Telegraphs), Mr. A. Mac Brádaigh (Secretary, Department of Defence), Mr. J. Whelan and Mr. J. R. Whitty (Department of Finance) and the Secretary and Director of Audit were examined.

5. Adjournment.

The Committee adjourned at 1.20 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday next.
