1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputy Jones (in the Chair), Deputies Booth, Patrick J. Burke, Clinton, Cunningham and Treacy.

3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1961-62.

Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1961-62 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—Transport and Power and Industry and Commerce.

4. Witnesses Examined.

Miss T. J. Beere (Secretary, Department of Transport and Power), Mr. J. C. B. MacCarthy (Secretary, Department of Industry and Commerce), Mr. C. J. Byrnes and Miss M. A. Kiely (Department of Finance) and the Secretary and Director of Audit were examined.

5. Adjournment.

The Committee adjourned at 12 noon until 11 a.m. on Thursday next.
