APPENDIX XXVI.

BOVINE TUBERCULOSIS ERADICATION SCHEME: EXPORT SUBSIDY.

Memorandum:

During the period from 8th May, 1961 to 31st July, 1961, the rate of Guarantee Payment on fat cattle exceeded 20/- per live cwt. and ranged from 21/6 to 44/-. The corresponding rates for carcase beef during the period ranged from 4.3 pence per lb. to 8.8 pence per lb.

The following figures show the actual payments made during the period at the prevailing rates as compared with what the payments would have been if the 20/- ceiling had operated:—
