THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputy Jones (in the Chair), Deputies Belton, Booth, Patrick J. Burke, Carter, Clinton, Kenny, Sherwin and Treacy.

3. The Committee deliberated.

4. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1960-61.

Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1960-61 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—National Gallery, Office of the Minister for Social Welfare, Social Insurance, Social Assistance, Roinn na Gaeltachta, Lands, Forestry, Fisheries, Office of the Minister for Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Technical Instruction, Science and Art, Reformatory and Industrial Schools, Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies and Universities and Colleges.

5. Witnesses Examined.

Dr. T. McGreevy (Director, National Gallery), Mr. W. A. Honahan (Secretary, Department of Social Welfare), Mr. S. Ó Braonáin (Rúnaí, Roinn na Gaeltachta), Mr. T. O’Brien (Secretary, Department of Lands), Dr. T. Ó Raifeartaigh (Secretary, Department of Education), Mr. J. F. Harman, Mr. P. S. Mac Guill and Mr. J. R. Whitty (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.

6. Adjournment.

The Committee adjourned at 2.05 p.m. until Thursday next.
