THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

1. The Committee met at 3 p.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputy Cosgrave (in the Chair), Deputies Jones, Thaddeus Lynch, Moloney, O’Toole and Sheldon.

3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1958-59.

Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1958-59 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:— Local Government, Industry and Commerce, Transport and Marine Services, Aviation and Meteorological Services, Industrial and Commercial Property Registration Office, Tourism, Repayment of Trade Loans Advances, Rates on Government Property, Valuation and Boundary Survey, Ordnance Survey and Comptroller and Auditor General.

4. Witnesses Examined.

Mr. J. Garvin (Secretary, Department of Local Government), Mr. J. C. B. MacCarthy (Secretary, Department of Industry and Commerce), Mr. J. Mooney (Commissioner of Valuation), Mr. E. F. Suttle (Secretary and Director of Audit), Miss M. A. Keily, Mr. J. F. MacInerney and Mr. L. V. O’Neill (Department of Finance) were examined.
