PROCEEDINGS OF THE JOINT COMMITTEE

Dé Céadaoin, 8 Meitheamh, 1960.

Wednesday, 8th June, 1960.

1. The Joint Committee met at 4 p.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputies Booth, Breen, Seán Browne, Cosgrave, Healy, Jones, Kitt, Loughman, McQuillan, Moloney, O’Malley and Sweetman, Senators Lenihan, L’Estrange, Murphy, Ó Maoláin, O’Quigley and Ryan.

3. Election of Chairman.

Motion made (Deputy Breen):

“That Deputy Healy be Chairman of the Joint Committee.”

Question put, and agreed to.

Deputy Healy took the Chair accordingly.

4. Attendance of Departmental Officials.

Ordered: That such officials of the Department of Local Government as may be required be permitted to attend meetings of the Joint Committee.

5. Report of Debates.

Ordered: That the debates of the Joint Committee be not officially reported.

6. Representations from Outside Bodies.

The Joint Committee decided to postpone the question of inviting representations from outside bodies.

7. The Joint Committee deliberated.

8. Adjournment.

The Joint Committee adjourned at 5 p.m. until 4.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 6th July, 1960.
