LOCAL APPOINTMENTS COMMISSION: INTERVIEW BOARDS

During my examination before the Committee of Public Accounts on 18 November, 1959, I undertook to supply information about panels from which interview boards are constituted.

Lists of names of suitable persons have been compiled over many years from membership of the various professional bodies, learned societies, University staffs, serving and retired public officials, business people and other persons of standing throughout the State. The panels are constantly being reviewed, but there is no formal revision at regular intervals. The panels contain some hundreds of names some of which have been on the lists for years.
