THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

1. The Committee met at 12 noon.


2. Members Present.


The following members were present:—


Deputy Cosgrave (in the Chair), Deputies Booth, Desmond, Thaddeus Lynch, Moloney and Sheldon.


3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1958-59.


Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1958-59 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:— Charitable Donations and Bequests, Dundrum Asylum, Office of the Minister for Justice, Garda Síochána, Prisons, District Court, Circuit Court, Supreme Court and High Court of Justice, Land Registry and Registry of Deeds, Public Record Office, Defence and Army Pensions.


4. Witnesses Examined.


Mr. J. S. Martin (Secretary, Commissioners of Charitable Donations and Bequests), Dr. W. J. Coyne (Governor, Dundrum Asylum), Mr. T. J. Coyne (Secretary, Department of Justice), Mr. H. C. Brady (Secretary, Department of Defence), Mr. C. J. Byrnes, Mr. P. S. Mac Guill and Mr. J. F. MacInerney (Department of Finance) and the Secretary and Director of Audit were examined.

The Committee adjourned at 1.30 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday, 3rd December, 1959.
