APPENDIX XVII.

NATIONAL SCHOOL BUILDINGS: GRANTS AUTHORISED FOR, IN 1956-57.

An Cléireach,

Coiste na gCuntas Poiblí.

A Chara,

With reference to my examination by the Committee on the 1st May, 1958, I beg to enclose, as requested, a statement showing the grants authorised in 1956-57 for National School building.

In the matter of new schools and of enlargements and major improvements to schools it will be observed that with a view to furnishing the particulars in the form which would best answer to the purpose for which the information was sought the information is given by reference to the number of cases in each county or urban area, the total estimated cost of these and the State grants and local contributions comprising each total. I feel sure that the Committee will appreciate that the nature of the information concerned is such as precludes particulars being supplied that would identify any individual school.

Trusting that the information provided herewith will be found to be adequate for the purpose concerned.

Mise, le meas,

(Sínithe) T. Ó RAIFEARTAIGH,

Oifigeach Cuntaisíochta.

16 Bealtaine, 1958.
