GAELTACHT SERVICES: APPORTIONMENT OF TRAVELLING EXPENDITURE AS BETWEEN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE TRANSPORT.

Clerk to the Committee of Public Accounts,

At the recent meeting of the Committee I undertook to supply particulars, in regard to Subhead B, of the cost of Travelling by officers using (a) private cars and (b) public transport during the year 1956/57. The figures were:—

(a)	Private Cars	...	...	...	...	£6,524
(b)	Public Transport:
	Home (bus, train and air)				...	£1,013
	Foreign	...	...	...	...	£250

The balance of expenditure under Subhead B.—£4,079—was in respect of subsistence allowances.
