THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputy Carter (in the Chair), Deputies Bartley, Mrs. Crowley, O’Hara and Sheldon.

3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1954-55.

Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1954-55 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:— Lands, Forestry, Gaeltacht Services, Office of the Minister for Social Welfare, Social Insurance, Social Assistance, Stationery Office and Comptroller and Auditor General.

4. Witnesses Examined.

Mr. T. O’Brien (Secretary, Department of Lands), Mr. P. J. Keady (Secretary, Department of Social Welfare), Mr. T. J. Malone (Controller, Stationery Office), Mr. C. J. Byrnes, Miss M. A. Keily, Mr. P. S. Mac Guill, Mr. J. F. MacInerney, and Mr. J. Mooney (Department of Finance) and the Secretary and Director of Audit were examined.
