1. The Committee met at 11.45 a.m.


2. Members Present.


The following members were present:—


Deputy Carter (in the Chair), Deputies Mrs. Crowley, Mrs. O’Carroll and Sheldon.


3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1954-55.


Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1954-55 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—Charitable Donations and Bequests, Office of the Minister for Justice, Garda Síochána, Prisons, District Court, Circuit Court, Supreme Court and High Court of Justice, Land Registry and Registry of Deeds, Public Record Office, Posts and Telegraphs, Wireless Broadcasting Rates on Government Property, Valuation and Boundary Survey and Ordnance Survey.


4. Witnesses Examined.


Mr. J. S. Martin (Secretary, Commissioners of Charitable Donations and Bequests), Mr. T. J. Coyne (Secretary, Department of Justice), Mr. L. Ó Broin (Secretary, Department of Posts and Telegraphs), Mr. J. N. McGrath (Commissioner of Valuation), Mr. S. O Buachalla and Mr. J. E. Twamley (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.
