THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.


2. Members Present.


The following members were present:—


Deputy Sheldon (in the Chair), Deputies Carter, Mrs. Crowley, Hickey, Ormonde, D. J. O’Sullivan and Palmer.


3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1951-52.


Consideration of the Appropriation Accounts for the year 1951-52 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—External Affairs, European Co-operation, Office of the Revenue Commissioners, Office of the Minister for Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Technical Instruction, Science and Art, Reformatory and Industrial Schools, Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies, National Gallery, Valuation and Boundary Survey, Ordnance Survey, Charitable Donations and Bequests, Public Record Office and Dundrum Asylum.


4. Witnesses Examined.


Mr. S. Nunan (Secretary, Department of External Affairs), Mr. R. P. Rice (Chairman, Revenue Commissioners), Mr. L. Ó Muirthe (Secretary, Department of Education), Mr. T. McGreevy (Director, National Gallery), Mr. C. C. McElligott (Commissioner of Valuation), Mr. J. S. Martin (Secretary, Commissioners of Charitable Donations and Bequests), Mr. D. Coffey (Public Record Office), Dr. W. J. Coyne (Dundrum Asulum), Mr. M. Breathnach and Mr. J. F. MacInerney (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.

The Committee adjourned at 12.45 p.m. until Wednesday, 15th July.
