1. The Committee met at 3 p.m. in Committee Room 106.

2. Present: The Cathaoirleach (Senator Liam Ó Buachalla) in the Chair; Senators Commons, Douglas, Hawkins, M. Hayes, Loughman, McCrea, Ó Ciosáin, Stanford and Yeats.

3. Messrs. M. Lawless and D. Haughey of the Department of Local Government attended the Select Committee.

4. The Committee deliberated.

5. The Committee adjourned at 6 p.m. until 3 p.m. sine die.
