IMEACHTA AN CHOISTE.

PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

Dé Céadaoin, 29ú Deireadh Fómhair, 1952.

Wednesday, 29th October, 1952.

1. Tháinig an Coiste le chéile ar 5 p.m. i Seomra 106.

2. Bhí na comhaltaí seo a leanas i láthair:—

An Cathaoirleach; na Seanadóirí Ua Guilidhe, Ó hEacháin, M. Ó hAodha, Ó hEichthigheirn, Ó Lachtnáin, Ó Briain, T. Ó Donnabháin, P. P. Ó Raghallaigh agus Ó Ruairc.

3. Léadh Ordú an tSeanaid dar dháta an 29ú D ireadh Fómhair, 1952, ag cur na ceiste i dtaobh éifeacht féimheachta an tSeanadóra Liam Mac Maoláin maidir lena bheith ina chomhalta den tSeanad faoi bhráid an Choiste.

4. Tugadh Deimhniú an tSannaí Oifigiúil i bhFéimheacht re an Seanadóir Liam Mac Maoláin ar aird don Choiste.

5. Chuaigh an Coiste i gcomhairle.

6. Léadh Dréacht-Thuarascáil a thug an Cathaoirleach isteach mar leanas:—

1. The Committee has examined the question referred to the Committee by Order of the Seanad of the 29th October, 1952, namely, the effect of Senator William McMullen’s bankruptcy on his membership of the Seanad.

2. The Committee had before it the Certificate of the Official Assignee in Bankruptcy that Senator William McMullen was adjudicated a bankrupt in the High Court of Justice on the 16th September, 1952.

3. The Committee reports that in consequence of such adjudication of bankruptcy the said William McMullen ceased to be a member of the Seanad on the said 16th September, 1952.

7. Chuaigh an Coiste ar athló ar 6.45 p.m.
