THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

Wednesday, 24th October, 1951.

1. The Committee met at 2.30 p.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:

Deputy Sheldon (in the Chair), Deputies P. Brady, J. J. Collins, Mrs. Crowley, Davern, Davin, Finan, Gallagher, Gilbride and Palmer.

3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1949-50.

Consideration of the Appropriation Accounts for the year 1949-50 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—Office of the Minister for Education, Primary Educaiton, Secondary Education, Technical Instruction, Science and Art, Reformatory and Industrial Schools, Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies, Lands, Forestry and Gaeltacht Services.

4. Witnesses Examined.

Mr. M. Breathnach (Secretary, Department of Education), Mr. W. F. Nally (Secretary, Department of Lands), Miss M. Bhreathnach and Mr. M. Breathnach (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.

5. Adjournment.

The Committee adjourned at 4.5 p.m. until 11 a.m. to-morrow.
