The following members were present: Deputy Sheldon (in the Chair), Deputies P. Brady, Mrs. Crowley, Davern, Davin, M. E. Dockrell, Gilbride, Hickey, D. O’Sullivan and Palmer. 3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1949-50. Consideration of the Appropriation Accounts for the year 1949-50 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of: Charitable Donations and Bequests, National Gallery, Office of Public Works and Public Works and Buildings. 4. Witnesses Examined. Mr. J. S. Martin (Secretary, Commissioners of Charitable Donations and Bequests), Mr. T. MacGreevy (Director, National Gallery), D. O hEigeartuigh (Chairman, Commissioners of Public Works), Mr. M. Breathnach (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined. 5. Meeting Suspended. Ordered: That the Committee do adjourn from 1.10 p.m. to 2.30 p.m. The Committee adjourned accordingly at 1.10 p.m. The Committee met again at 2.30 p.m. 6. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1949-50. Consideration of the Appropriation Accounts for the year 1949-50 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—External Affairs, European Co-operation, Defence and Army Pensions. 7. Witnesses Examined. Mr. S. Nunan (Secretary, Department of External Affairs), Lieutenant-General P. MacMahon (Secretary, Department of Defence), Mr. M. Breathnach and Mr. P. M. Clarke (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined. 8. Adjournment. The Committee adjourned at 3.45 p.m. until 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 24th October. |
