APPENDIX XXV.

Vote for Aviation and Meteorological Services.

At the proceedings of the Committee on the 5th April, 1951, I undertook to furnish further particulars regarding the items relating to (1) the damage to a dredger at Shannon Airport and (2) an ex gratia payment of £113 1s. 0d. to a building contractor.

DAMAGE TO DREDGER AT SHANNON AIRPORT.

The sum of £65 16s. 0d., appearing under Exchequer Extra Receipts (No. 4) includes the sum of £58 16s. 0d. referred to in the note relating to Subhead G on page 202 of the Appropriation Account and is made up as follows:—

(a)	Interim payment by Underwriters in respect of a Joint Claim by the Department and the Limerick Harbour Commissioners, on account of an accident arising out of dredging work at Shannon Airport, including loss of									£	s.	d.

On receipt of the final award in connection with (a) above an adjusting payment by the Department to the Limerick Harbour Commissioners was necessary. The payment will be the subject of a note in the Appropriation Account for the year 1950/51.
