PROCEEDINGS OF THE SELECT COMMITTEE.

Thursday, 14th December, 1950.

1. The Committee met at 12 noon.


2. Members Present.


The following members were present:—


Deputies Bartley, Brady, Briscoe, Colley, Dockrell, Doyle, Hilliard, Larkin, C. Lehane, McCann, M. O’Sullivan and Sheldon.


3. Election of Chairman.


Deputy Doyle moved:—


“That Deputy McCann be Chairman of the Committee.”


Question put, and agreed to.


Deputy McCann took the Chair accordingly.


4. Report of Debates.


Ordered: That the debates of the Committee be not officially reported.


5. Notice of Amendments.


Ordered: That notice of proposed amendments to the Bill be given not later than Wednesday, 17th January, 1951.


6. Power to take Evidence.


The Committee considered its terms of refererence and decided not to avail of its power to send for persons, papers and records, but to consider any written representations made to it on the subject matter of the Bill.


7. Adjournment.


The Committee adjourned at 12.40 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, 24th January, 1951.
