APPENDIX XXIV.

PROSECUTIONS UNDER THE NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE ACTS

At the proceedings of the Public Accounts Committee on the 9th February last, during my examination in connection with the Appropriation Account of the Vote for National Health Insurance for 1947-48, I undertook to give particulars of prosecutions in that year on the National Health Insurance side. There were 172 prosecutions made up as follows:—

For non-compliance with the National Health Insurance Acts					161 cases
For recovery from employers of benefit lost by insured persons					5 cases
For irregular stamping offences	..	..	..	..	6 cases
