APPENDIX VIII.

RESIGNATIONS FROM THE DUBLIN INSTITUTE FOR ADVANCED STUDIES IN 1945-46.

A Chara,

Referring to my reply to the question from the Chairman of the Committee regarding resignations from the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies, I wish to state that I was then under the impression that, while there were resignations which affected the accounts of the Institute for the financial year 1945-46, the resignations had actually occurred towards the close of the previous year. I have found, however, on investigation that during the year 1945-46, Professor M. O’Brien resigned his post as Senior Professor in the School of Celtic Studies to take up a professorship in Queen’s University, Belfast, and that Miss Máire McEntee relinquished a Scholarship in the School to avail of a Travelling Studentship awarded to her by University College, Dublin.

Mise, le meas,
