APPENDIX V.CONTRIBUTIONS TO DISCHARGED PRISONERS AID SOCIETIES.The Borstal Institution was transferred from Clonmel to Cork in October, 1940. The Association at Clonmel continued to function until June, 1941, when a new Association was established in Cork. The old Association was given a grant of £4 in April, 1941, in recoupment of expenses actually incurred. The new Association was given a grant of £25. Thus a total of £29 was paid to the two Associations whereas the total in the estimate for that purpose was only £10. This caused an excess of £19 on the subhead. (Signed) S. A. ROCHE, Accounting Officer, Department of Justice. 21adh Abrán, 1943. |
