APPENDIX XV.WIRELESS BROADCASTING.—FEES PAID FOR TALKS, PLAY SCRIPTS, ETC.The fees paid for these items are variable, and are fixed by relation to what the particular item is worth, taking into consideration the performer, the quality of the material and so on—that is to say, the ordinary consideration which must govern such things. In the case of play-scripts the Broadcasting Service does not, of course, buy the script. It hires it for one evening, and it incurs the whole cost, often heavy, of presenting it. The fees paid are considered to be adequate. (Signed) P. S. O’HEGARTY, Accounting Officer. Department of Posts and Telegraphs, 14th June, 1941. |
