IMEACHTA AN CHOISTE SPEISIALTA.PROCEEDINGS OF THE SPECIAL COMMITTEE.Déardaoin, 28adh Deire Fómhair, 1937.Thursday, 28th October, 1937.1. The Committee met at 7.40 p.m. 2. Present: The President of the Executive Council (in the Chair); the Minister for Industry and Commerce; the Minister for Agriculture; the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Finance; Deputies Anthony, Costello, Dillon, Fitzgerald-Kenney, Kissane, McGilligan, Moore, Norton, W. O’Brien, J. M. O’Sullivan and Smith. 3. The Minutes of the previous meeting were signed. 4. Deputy McGilligan’s proposals were taken into consideration. After discussion the following Question was put:— “That the proposals of Deputy McGilligan, as set out in paragraphs 4 and 5 of his Memorandum, be adopted in principle.” The Committee divided: For, 5; Against, 8. The proposal was negatived accordingly. 5. Deputy Norton’s proposals were next considered. After discussion it was agreed that a memorandum, covering certain proposals which it was felt might form a basis of agreement, should be prepared by the Chairman and circulated to members of the Committee for consideration at the next meeting. 6. The meetings of the Committee during next week were fixed for Wednesday and Thursday at 5 p.m. 7. The Committee adjourned at 10.15 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Wednesday next.
