REPORT.The attached account, giving the income and expenditure of the Oireachtas Restaurant for the year 1931, shows a profit of £400 ls. 8d. This result has been surpassed only once since the Restaurant started, and is largely due to the fact that sittings of both Houses were much more frequent than during many previous years. The increase in the volume of business, as compared with the year 1930, is shown in the subjoined table. In view of the favourable financial situation, as shown in the account, the Joint Committee has found it possible to recommend a payment to the Department of Finance of a sum of £300, being a further instalment on account of loans made by that Department to the Committee during the earlier years of the Restaurant.
