PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

Dé Céadaoin, 16 Mí na Nodlag, 1925.

Wednesday, 16th December, 1925.

1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.


2. The following members were present:—Deputies Johnson, Cooper, Roddy, Mulvany, T. Hennessy, O’Connor, Nagle, M. Conlan and Doherty.


3. Deputy Mulvany moved:—


“That Deputy Roddy be Chairman of the Committee.”


Question put, and agreed to. Deputy Roddy took the Chair.


4. Deputy Cooper moved:—


“That the Committee apply to the Dáil for power to send for persons, papers and records.”


Question put; the Committee divided: For, 4; Against, 4:—


For: Deputies Cooper, O’Doherty, Johnson and Nagle.


Against: Deputies T. Hennessy, Mulvany, M. Conlan and O’Connor.


The Chairman gave his casting vote in favour of the motion, which was accordingly declared carried.


5. Draft Interim Report brought up by the Chairman, and read as follows:—


1. The Committee met on Wednesday, 16th December, 1925.


2. It was decided to ask the Dáil to extend the powers of the Committee so as to enable it to send for persons, papers and records, and to take evidence on matters relating to the Bill.


Motion made (Deputy Johnson):—


“That the Draft Report be adopted as the Interim Report of the Committee.”


Question put, and agreed to.


The Committee rose at 11.45 p.m.
