REPORT OF THE JOINT COMMITTEE ON FINANCE AND THE PUBLIC SERVICE OF MEETING ON THE REPORT OF THE IMPLEMENTATION ADVISORY GROUP ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A SINGLE REGULATORY AUTHORITY.

1 INTRODUCTION

The Joint Committee on Finance and the Public Service was established following Orders of Reference of the Dáil and Seanad of 11 November 1997. In addition Standing Orders state that the following powers may be conferred on a Committee.

“ power to take oral and written evidence and to print and publish from time to time minutes of such evidence taken in public before the Select Committee together with such related documents as the Select Committee thinks fit.”.

This report of the Joint Committee on the Report of the Implementation Advisory Group on the Establishment of a Single Regulatory Authority was agreed on 2 February 2000.
