Standing Order 130


“There shall be appointed, as soon as may be after the beginning of each financial year, a Select Committee to be designated “The Committee of Public Accounts”, to examine and report to the Dáil upon the accounts showing the appropriation of the sums granted by the Dáil to meet the public expenditure, and to suggest alterations and improvements in the form of the Estimates submitted to the Dáil. The Committee, which shall have power to send for persons, papers and records, shall consist of twelve members, none of whom shall be a member of the Government or a Minister of State, and four of whom shall constitute a quorum. The Committee shall be otherwise constituted according to the provisions of Standing Orders 70 and 73, and so as to be impartially representative of the Dáil”.

That in pursuance of Standing Order No. 130 of the Standing Orders relative to Public Business, the Committee of Public Accounts be appointed;


Committee nominated consisting of Deputies Gay Mitchell (Chairman), Michael Ahern, Bernard Allen, John Connor, Séamus Cullimore, John Dennehy, Chris Flood, Michael P. Kitt, Charlie McCreevy, Brendan McGahon, Pat Rabbitte and Mervyn Taylor.


20 November 1991:- Ordered


“That notwithstanding Standing Order 130, the Appropriation Accounts with the Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General for the year ended 31st December 1990, be referred to the Committee of Public Accounts, which was established by Order of Dáil Éireann on 20 July, 1989, for examination and report”.

Deputies Noel Dempsey and P. J. Morley appointed in place of Deputies Chris Flood and Charlie McCreevy, respectively, discharged.
