Dear Secretary,

I refer to the query of the Committee of Public Accounts concerning the National Gallery’s Shaw Bequest Fund which was raised during the Committee’s examination of the National Gallery’s 1988 Appropriation Accounts.

Subsequent to the Committee’s meeting, the Department of the Taoiseach placed the full accounts of the National Gallery in the Oireachtas Library. These accounts cover the Shaw Bequest and all other funding for the National Gallery, both public and private. The intention is to continue the practice of placing the full accounts in the Oireachtas Library.
