Dear Vice Chairman,

I confirm our recent telephone discussion and request you to undertake the completion of the Committee’s review of the Irish Sugar Company.

The Chairman of Food Industries Plc., Mr. Alex Spain, on behalf of that company has entered into dialogue with the Irish Sugar Company regarding areas of potential commercial association. As a non-executive director of Food Industries Plc., I intend taking no further part in the hearings and workings of the Committee in relation to the Sugar Company.

I would like to express my appreciation to you for taking the chair at the head of the Committee for the duration of the Irish Sugar Company hearings.

Yours sincerely,
