PROCEEDINGS OF THE JOINT COMMITTEE

1. The Joint Committee met at 4 p.m.

2. Members Present.

The following Members were present:

Senator Eoin Ryan (in the Chair); Deputies Barry Desmond, James N. Fitzsimons, William Kenneally and William O’Brien; and Senators Patrick M. Cooney and Justin Keating.

7. Draft Report on Bord na Móna.

The Chairman brought forward a Draft Report which was read as follows:

(i) Paragraphs 1 to 26, inclusive, agreed to.

(ii) Paragraph 27 amended and agreed to, as amended.

(iii) Paragraphs 28 to 48, inclusive, agreed to.

(iv) Paragraph 49 amended and agreed to, as amended.

(v) Paragraphs 50 to 53 inclusive, agreed to.

(vi) Paragraph 54 amended and agreed to, as amended.

(vii) Paragraphs 55 to 64, inclusive, agreed to.

(viii) Paragraph 65 amended and agreed to, as amended.

(ix) Paragraph 66 amended and agreed to, as amended.

(x) Paragraph 67 amended and agreed to, as amended.

(xi) Paragraphs 68 to 73, inclusive, agreed to.

(xii) New Paragraph.

Following new paragraph inserted before paragraph 74:—

“In summary, therefore, the Joint Committee is confident that the complimentarity between the roles of Board and Government has operated satisfactorily in general.”

(xiii) Paragraphs 74 to 84, inclusive, agreed to.

(xiv) Paragraph 85 amended and agreed to, as amended.

(xv) Paragraph 86 agreed to.

(xvi) Paragraph 87 amended and agreed to, as amended.

(xvii) Paragraph 88 agreed to.

(xviii) Appendices 1, 2 and 3 agreed to.
