When giving evidence to the Committee of Public Accounts regarding the Appropriation Accounts for 1977, I undertook to provide a note regarding the rates paid by the Civil Service Commissioners for advertising in newspapers and radio.

I have ascertained that the normal commercial rates are paid for the Commission’s newspaper advertising. The fact that the Commission have to insert their advertisements (and that ornamental headings are used) does not involve any extra charge. The RTE advertising is also done at normal rates.
