1. The Joint Committee met at 4 p.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:

Deputies Haughey (in the Chair), Collins, Desmond, Dockrell and Thornley; Senators FitzGerald, Robinson and Ryan.

3. Draft Report on Draft Community Instruments on Health Protection Standards for Sulphur Dioxide and Suspended Particulate Matter in Urban Atmospheres and the Use of Fuel-Oils with Low Sulphur Content.

The Chairman brought forward a Draft Report which was read as follows:—

(i) Sections 1 and 2 agreed to.

(ii) Section 3.

Amendment Proposed (Deputy Desmond):

“In page 4, to insert the following footnote to the second sentence of the final paragraph:

‘*See Reports of the Department of Local Government 1972/73-1974 (Prl. 4821) and 1975 (Prl. 5534)’.”

Amendment agreed to.

Section, as amended, agreed to.

(iii) Section 4.

Amendment proposed (Deputy Desmond):

“In page 5, line 22, to add ‘at present’.”

Amendment agreed to.

Section, as amended, agreed to.

(iv) Section 5 agreed to.

Draft Report, as amended, agreed to.
