IMEACHTAÍ AN CHOMHCHOISTEPROCEEDINGS OF THE JOINT COMMITTEEDé Céadaoin, 28 Aibreán, 1976Wednesday, 28th April, 19761. The Joint Committee met at 4.00 p.m. 2. Members Present. The following members were present: Deputies Haughey (in the Chair), Dockrell, Esmonde, Fahey and Staunton; Senators FitzGerald and Ryan. An apology for inability to attend was received from Senator Robinson. 3. Draft Report on a Proposal for a Council Regulation establishing a System of Aid for Bee-Keepers’ Associations. The Chairman brought forward a Draft Report which was read as follows:— (i) Paragraph 1. Amendment proposed (Deputy Esmonde): “To delete ‘damage caused by chemical treatment of crops’ and substitute ‘damage caused by pesticides and contact chemicals’”. Amendment agreed to. Paragraph, as amended, agreed to. (ii) Paragraphs 2 and 3 agreed to. (iii) Paragraph 4. Amendment proposed (Deputy Esmonde): “To add the following: ‘In addition, the Joint Committee would like consideration to be given to the possibility of applying some aid towards disease control at local level and for subsidising the importation of quality queen bees’.” Amendment agreed to. Paragraph, as amended, agreed to. (iv) Paragraph 5 agreed to. Draft Report, as amended, agreed to. Ordered: To report accordingly. 4. Adjournment. The Joint Committee adjourned at 5.30 p.m. |
