PROCEEDINGS OF THE SPECIAL COMMITTEE

1. The Committee met at 3.45 p.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputy Esmonde (in the Chair), the Minister for Lands, Deputies Daly, Barry Desmond, Haughey, Hogan O’Higgins, Kenny, Kitt, L’Estrange, Pattison and Tunney.

3. Consideration of Bill.

The Committee resumed consideration of the Bill.

(i) Section 7.

Question again proposed:—“That the section stand part of the Bill.”

Question put: the Committee divided: For, 7; Against, 4.

For:—Minister for Lands, Deputies Barry Desmond, Esmonde, Hogan O’Higgins, Kenny, L’Estrange and Pattison.

Against:—Deputies Daly, Haughey, Kitt and Tunney.

The Question was declared carried accordingly.

(ii) Section 8.

Amendment proposed (Minister for Lands):

“In page 8, subsection (2), to insert ‘(other than a purchase order within the meaning of section 55 of this Act)’ before ‘made’ in line 53.”

Amendment agreed to.

Amendment proposed (Minister for Lands):

“In page 9, subsection (4), to insert ‘by the Minister, other than an order under section 1 (2) or a purchase order within the meaning of section 55 of this Act,’ after ‘Act’ in line 6.”

Amendment agreed to.

Section, as amended, agreed to.

(iii) Sections 9 to 12 inclusive, agreed to.

(iv) Section 13.

Question:—“That the section stand part of the Bill”—put, and agreed to.

Further consideration of the Bill adjourned.
