IMEACHTAÍ AN CHOISTE SPEISIALTA.PROCEEDINGS OF THE SPECIAL COMMITTEE.Dé Céadaoin, 12 Bealtaine, 1976.Wednesday, 12th May, 1976.1. Chruinnigh an Coiste ar 4 p.m. 2. Comhaltaí i Láthair. Bhí na comhaltaí seo a leanas i láthair:— An Teachta Barra Deasún (sa Chathaoir), an tAire Sláinte, na Teachtaí Brioscú, Ó Broin, Ó Conalláin*, Esmonde, Aodh Mac Giobúin, Ó hEochaidh, Ní Ógáin Uí Uiginn, Síle Uí Loingsigh*, Ciarán Ó Murchú, Fearghas Ó Briain, Ó Conaill, Ó Máille agus de Uidheas. 3. An Bille a Bhreithniú. D’athchrom an Coiste ar an mBille a bhreithniú. (i) Alt 22. Tairgeadh an Cheist arís:—“Go bhfanfaidh an t-alt mar chuid den Bhille.”. Cuireadh agus aontaíodh an cheist. (ii) Alt 23. Tairgeadh leasú (An Teachta Ó Broin): “In page 15, subsection (1), line 50, after ‘prescription’ to insert ‘or order form or equivalent form from a medical practitioner, dentist, veterinary surgeon, chemist, druggist, hospital, health board, pharmaceutical production or distribution firm’.” Tarraingíodh siar an leasú, faoi chead. Tairgeadh leasú (An Teachta Ó hEochaidh): “In page 16, between lines 12 and 13, to insert the following subsection:— ‘(2) A member of the Garda Síochána shall not exercise a power conferred on him by this section unless he has been furnished with an authorisation in writing by an officer of the Garda Síochána (not below the rank of Inspector) to exercise such power and if when claiming to exercise such power he is required to produce the said authorisation the power shall not be exercisable by him except on production of the authorisation’.” Tharla Díospóireacht.
